Hungry children cannot focus on studying; they do not do well in school and have no hope of breaking the poverty cycle. Your kind support of this programme will allow us to expand it so that more needy children can enjoy a healthy meal every day.
Proper development of children happens through education and stimulation. We ask for donations of educational wall art, musical instruments, maps, globes, flashcards, microscopes and age appropriate books in English.
Toys and school supplies
Toys and school supplies are necessary to make education fun from the beginning and to inspire children at a very early age. We accept crayons, notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, colouring books, blocks, balls, balloons, puzzles, school backpacks, chalk and simple games in any amounts. Our sincere thank you goes to all who have been sending these items. We could not have started our preschool programme without them.
Financial support of the Mission will ensure that all necessary construction and remodelling can take place so that the Mission will be able to expand in order to meet growing needs of the community.
With minimal government help and ongoing financial challenges we are not able to buy all necessary medical supplies. Whenever we face critical shortages in essential medical supplies, a list of them can be found in our “News” section. If you are in a position to donate these supplies (buy them or obtain them through a pharmaceutical company or charitable organisation), we will be grateful for any amounts. They are many times true life-savers!
Our Hospital generator depends on diesel. There is no electricity without it. Please, consider supporting this necessary expenditure.
Every month about 50 babies are born in our Hospital. Expectant mothers sometimes have to walk for a day or two to get to our facility. There is usually a little departing gift prepared for those who decide to give birth in our delivery room instead of choosing the traditional and risky way of delivering in the villages. New mothers and their babies return home with those little packages and that is how the word of our delivery room is spread. More births at the Hospital mean fewer deaths or complications at child birth. In Zambia, where the orphan rate per capita is the highest in the world, saving every mother is crucial. Please, help us with preparing those little gifts. Newborn clothes, blankets, baby powder and soap make excellent packages.
Your financial support will ensure that terminally ill patients have appropriate care until the end of their lives. Palliative care is extremely underfunded in developing countries therefore your kind support of our Hospice will enable us to keep offering our services where they are needed most.
"When a poor person dies of hunger, it has not happened because God did not take care of him or her.
It has happened because neither you nor I wanted to give that person what he or she needed." - Mother Teresa
