Group Sponsorship - In Need Of Sponsors!
July 1, 2012

The Mpanshya and the Chamilala Missions are currently recruiting Sponsors who wish to support a group of Zambian Preschoolers. The children, who are between ages 3 and 5, will be able to attend Noah’s Ark Preschool starting January of 2013 thanks to the support of their Sponsors. Each Sponsor is matched with one child and sponsorship beyond preschool is possible.

The Sponsorship Fee is 150 USD, which covers: the preschool fee for 9 months, daily meal, school supplies, uniform, backpack, shoes, jersey and 2 extracurricular activities per year.

Sponsors are allowed to send packages to the children and order specific items that are purchased locally 3 times per year.

Sponsors receive 3 photos/updates from Zambia per school year. They also get information regarding the whole group.

The Mission started Group Sponsorship in 2011 and it has been a great success. Please visit our Gallery to see videos.

If you are interested in supporting a Zambian preschooler, please contact Bernadeta Milewski at bernadeta@stlukesmissionhospital.org.

A huge “Zikomo” on behalf of the Preschoolers!

Noah's Ark Stage II-additional classroom
July 15, 2011

It is our pleasure to inform you that we have started getting building supplies for the expansion of Noah's Ark. Earlier this year we received a grant from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs which will cover the cost of the building materials. We are very excited to welcome more orphans and vulnerable children to our preschool programme. Our hope is to complete the construction by the end of the year, so that a group of preschoolers can start formal education in the new classroom in January of 2012.

The Project is co-financed by the Polish development cooperation programme 2011 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

Noah's Ark Grand Opening and First Graduation
December 10, 2010

Today was a very special day in Mpanshya. 7 months after Noah's Ark opened its doors to its first preschoolers, we celebrated an official grand opening with a blessing. The Chief of Mpanshya had the honour of cutting the ribbon while the blessing was performed by Father Maciej Oset. The beginning of December happens to be the end of the school year in Zambia, so we also had our first graduation ceremony. Please, visit our Gallery to see photos of this beautiful event. We would like to use this oppotunity to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our Supporters and Friends, who have believed in our dream, and especially to the Czech Embassy in Harare and the Cement Factory In Chilanga for their donations. Without the generosity of our Supporters this day would have never come.

"Cluck, cluck". The chickens have arrived!
September 11, 2010

On this beautiful Saturday our Mission is welcoming 262 new residents. The chickens have finally arrived! With their arrival we begin a new phase of self-sufficiency. In about two weeks the chickens will start laying eggs, which will enrich the diet of our hospital and hospice patients, as well as the children enrolled in the Nutrition Centre. For more information on this project, please visit our Project section. Your support of this endeavour is greatly appreciated.

New Term, New Classrooms
September 6, 2010

Four months after Noah's Ark opened, two indoor classrooms are finally completed. Our preschoolers are very excited to start their third term indoors and so are we. There are still some final touches needed but thanks to the hard work of a volunteer artist and the generosity of our donors soon these classrooms will not only be beautiful but also very educational. Make sure to check out the newest photos in our gallery under Noah's Ark. And a big "Thank you" to everyone who has contributed to this great project.

We are happy to announce that Noah's Ark has opened its doors to over 90 preschoolers. Classes are being held outside for the time being while our construction crew is finishing the building.
